• Senator Collins Honors Fallen Firefighters at Annual Memorial Service in Augusta (senate.gov) — An annual memorial service at the Maine Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Augusta honored firefighters from across the state who died over the past year, including two who responded to a Searsmont mill explosion. Senator Susan Collins joined more than 100 attendees to recognize their service and highlight ongoing efforts to support Maine's fire departments and first responders.
   

• 'Monks capture Maslan Invitational title at GNAC Preview'. (newenglandnewspress.com) — An Augusta native, graduate student Jacob Pelletier, led Saint Joseph's College of Maine to a men's cross country team victory at the Maslan Invitational in New Hampshire, winning the individual title in 23:52.7. With several Maine runners placing in the top 10, the Monks topped Norwich and other conference rivals and now look ahead to their next meet in Hopkinton.
