• An art exhibition good enough to eat (boothbayregister.com) — Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay is offering a food-themed “Garden To Table” art exhibit and related classes now through October 18. Local and regional artists are featured, with special receptions and workshops on botanical drawing, farmers market subjects, and autumn painting. Residents can visit daily, save on tickets online, and explore additional plant-science displays on site. 
• Julie R.B. Perry (wiscassetnewspaper.com) — East Boothbay neighbors are mourning Julie Ravenel Boothe Perry, a longtime resident, writer, and community volunteer who died August 1 at age 89. She supported Boothbay’s Harbor Theater, championed progressive causes, and encouraged many women in recovery while embracing coastal Maine life. Her family plans a memorial service and suggests donations to Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust.
