• A midcoast hospital could be closing its birthing unit (bangordailynews.com) — Boothbay residents just heard directly from MaineHealth about a possible closure of the labor and delivery unit at Lincoln Hospital, which could push expectant parents nearly an hour away for births. At a local listening session, hospital leaders cited staffing shortages and declining birth rates, while patients voiced fears and shared that some doctors are already talking about a December cutoff.
