Pilot escapes with minor injuries after crashing rare plane in Maine (wcvb.com) — An 82-year-old pilot walked away with minor injuries after his extremely rare 1930s Kinner Sportwing flipped while taxiing at Brunswick Executive Airport on Thursday. The vintage plane, en route to Owls Head Transportation Museum, was the only known remaining example of its model, and federal investigators are now reviewing what caused the crash in Brunswick.

Opens at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art (bowdoin.edu) — Brunswick residents can now explore a yearlong exhibition at Bowdoin College Museum of Art that uses clothing, jewelry, and fragrance to illuminate everyday life in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. 3. Maine nonprofit receives national award for fighting childhood hunger (wmtw.com) — A Brunswick-based nonprofit, Full Plates Full Potential, just won a national Courage Project award and $40,000 to bolster its fight against childhood hunger. Leaders warn that about 7,000 Maine children recently lost SNAP benefits, which could undermine free school meals and the state’s universal school-meals policy that Brunswick families rely on.

'Healing in Apartheid South Africa': A Conversation with David Gordon and Anne Strachan Cross (bowdoin.edu) — Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick is hosting an exhibition of Michael Goldblatt’s photographs documenting a South African clinic under apartheid, on view through February 7, 2027.
