• Maine to award $30 million through federal rural health fund (pressherald.com) — Cary Medical Center in Caribou is among 11 rural hospitals tapped to share $30 million in new federal funding aimed at stabilizing Maine’s rural health system. State officials say the money will support projects that improve financial management, efficiency, and regional planning, potentially including telehealth and outpatient expansions. Specific projects for each hospital, including Cary, have not yet been chosen.
   

• Where labor and delivery stands in Maine (wgme.com) — Expectant parents in Caribou can still deliver at Cary Medical Center, which remains one of just 17 hospitals statewide offering labor and delivery services amid a decade of closures. A MaineHealth board vote this week could drop that number to 16 if Lincoln Hospital’s unit shuts down, continuing a trend that forces many rural families to travel farther for maternity care.
