• Freeport Players to hold auditions for ‘Once Upon a Mattress' (pressherald.com) — Freeport residents ages 16 and up can audition at Freeport High School on June 14 or 16 for the Freeport Players’ summer production of the musical comedy “Once Upon a Mattress.” Rehearsals run through July and early August, with performances scheduled for Aug. 7-9 and 14-16, offering plenty of chances to get involved onstage or in the audience. 
• Maine Oyster Festival Returns in June: Seafood & Coastal Fun (z1073.com) — Freeport will host the Maine Oyster Festival June 27–28, bringing thousands of fresh oysters, live music, kids’ activities, and coastal education right to downtown, with free admission and shuttle service. Residents can meet oyster farmers, browse local vendors, and even try shucking or farm tours during the fifth annual celebration.
• Monday Seacoast Roundup: York softball sweeps Class B South twinbill (seacoastonline.com) — Freeport High’s softball team took a tough sweep on the road Monday, dropping both games of a Class B South doubleheader to a strong York squad. York’s pitcher threw a no-hitter in the second game, while Freeport managed five hits in the opener but couldn’t break through late.
