• EVENTS: Mobile milking system for sheep focus of upcoming UMaine Extension workshop (townline.org) — A free University of Maine Extension workshop on mobile sheep milking systems is coming to Oaklands Farm on Lincoln Avenue in Gardiner on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Local dairy farmers and ag service providers can see the equipment in action, learn about milk quality and parlor audits, and must register in advance online. Accessibility accommodations are available by contacting the organizers.
   

• Meet UMA's New Board of Visitors Members - University of Maine at Augusta (uma.edu) — The University of Maine at Augusta is welcoming seven new Board of Visitors members with deep ties to central Maine’s business and civic life. • Obituary: Joseph Richard Graves (centralmaine.com) — Gardiner is mourning the loss of 58-year-old Joseph Richard Graves, who passed away unexpectedly at his home in Gardiner. Born in Augusta and educated in several states, he was known for his talent in technology and his lifelong love of music. His family will hold a private service in Vassalboro, with arrangements handled by Staples Funeral Home on Brunswick Avenue in Gardiner.
