• Mobile unit to help area residents sign up for heating assistance (ellsworthamerican.com) — Households in Hancock County still have time this month to get in-person help applying for heating assistance through a mobile Community Action unit touring Downeast Maine. Staff will guide residents through Home Energy Assistance Program applications before the May 29 deadline and connect them with other support services, helping Hancock families prepare financially for next winter’s heating season.
