• Caribou's Boston Post Cane went missing a century ago. It traveled 800 miles home. (bangordailynews.com) — A long-missing ceremonial cane tied to Caribou’s oldest residents has finally returned home, just a short drive from New Sweden’s historic Swedish colony. The Boston Post Cane, awarded a century ago to Civil War veteran David Snowman, resurfaced in Pennsylvania and was mailed back to the Caribou Historical Society, which now plans to display it while continuing to honor elders with a replica.
