• Old Orchard Beach voters to decide rent control ordinance in June (sacobaynews.com) — Old Orchard Beach residents will vote on a sweeping rent stabilization ordinance in a June 8, 2027 town referendum that could cap annual rent increases and create a local administrator to oversee the rules. The measure, modeled on South Portland's ordinance, follows a successful citizen petition and has drawn both strong support from housing advocates and sharp criticism from landlords and real estate interests.
