• How to participate in NEWS CENTER Maine's blood drive this month (newscentermaine.com) — Rockland residents can donate blood at the Rockland American Legion on Limerock Street on Thursday, April 30, from noon to 5 p.m. This statewide Red Cross drive aims to keep Maine’s blood supply strong, with all blood types—especially O positive and O negative—urgently needed. Expect a brief health screening and about 75 minutes total for your visit.

• Maine Islands Could Be Offshore Labs Solving for a Statewide Crisis (islandinstitute.org) — Rockland’s own Island Institute is emerging as a key player in tackling Maine’s worsening affordable housing crisis, especially on the islands.
