• Rumford plans to overhaul trash collection (themainemonitor.org) — Rumford officials are close to approving a new trash and recycling system that would give every household standardized bins, limit weekly waste, and likely cut collection costs. If selectpersons approve the rules Oct. 15, the changes would start Nov. 15, affecting curbside pickup, yard waste habits, and requirements for larger landlords to maintain dumpsters.
