• Maine Audubon reaches more than 12,000 students this school year (maineaudubon.org) — Maine Audubon has expanded its early childhood nature programs into South Portland’s public pre-K classrooms, giving local kids more hands-on time outdoors with Maine wildlife. The organization reached over 12,000 students statewide this school year through field trips, in-school lessons, and family programs from Scarborough Marsh to Gilsland Farm and northern Maine centers.
   

• Greater Portland residents criticize Cape Elizabeth's parking changes near Cliff House Beach (pressherald.com) — South Portland beachgoers who love Cape Elizabeth’s Cliff House Beach say new resident-only parking rules along Shore Road make it much harder for them to visit, especially those who can’t bike or walk long distances. As Cape Elizabeth officials monitor the first summer under the restrictions, Greater Portland residents are organizing responses like a large group bike ride to assert that the small cove should remain easily accessible public space.
