• Army will soon deliver first batch of detection tools to help command posts identify their own signal emissions, protect from EMS targeting (defensescoop.com) — Army officials at Aberdeen Proving Ground just detailed the first fielding of new Spectrum Situational Awareness Systems that help units spot and manage their own signal emissions. The tools, developed by 3dB Labs, aim to protect command posts from detection in today’s highly contested electromagnetic environment and will start reaching select units within weeks, with dozens more systems coming by 2027.

• Federal contractor Amentum to lay off over 380 workers in Hanover (thebanner.com) — A major federal contractor with an office at Aberdeen Proving Ground is cutting more than 380 jobs tied to intelligence contracts in Hanover later this year. While the layoffs are centered in Anne Arundel County, they could ripple through Amentum’s broader Maryland footprint, including its APG operations and local defense community connections.
