2 Boaters Located After Distress Call: Susquehanna Hose Company
Authorities said a boat was taking on water in Harford County after a severe thunderstorm hit.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A boat was reportedly taking on water off Abbey Point in Harford County Saturday afternoon.
Two people were found at Plum Point in Kent County and taken back to their launch point, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company, which responded to the incident.
Initially, crews were dispatched to the scene of the Chesapeake Bay at Abbey Point, near the Bush River. Before 5:30 p.m., the Susquehanna Hose Company said it was sending its boat. Other first responders also went to the scene to assist.

The area was under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. on Saturday, and a flood advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for areas north of Edgewood, such as Havre de Grace and Cecil County, due to heavy rain accompanying thunderstorms.
After 6:15 p.m., the Susquehanna Hose Company said that the crew on its fire boat and the Abingdon Fire Company had located the two boaters.
