County Council Votes on Government Employee Bonuses Tonight

County Executive David Craig recommends giving all county employees a one-time $1,250 bonus.

A vote tonight by the Harford County Council could put a little extra scratch in the pockets of county employees.

The council is expected to vote on a one-time $1,250 bonus for all county employees during Tuesday night's meeting.

After announcing Harford County had a surplus of funds in November, County Executive David Craig proposed giving the bonuses to county government and school employees.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the Association of Public School Administrators and Supervisors of Harford County and Association of Harford County Administrative, Technical and Supervisor Professionals have all stated they will join the school board in accepting the Craig bonuses, according to a press release.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story stated that the council was expected to approve the bonus. As the story states, the council was expected to vote.
