Edgewood Woman Convicted of Murdering Ex-Boyfriend

Tanasha Siena was upset the man was leaving her for another woman, according to Harford County State's Attorney's Office.

An Edgewood woman was convicted this week of murdering her ex-boyfriend, according to the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Tanasha Earlene Siena, 35, of the 3100 block of Mahonia Way, was convicted on charges of second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.

Siena said that she acted in self-defense when she shot George S. Moore Jr., in the house they shared, the state’s attorney’s office reported.

Moore, 37, was an electrical engineer at NASA and had two sons, according to his obituary.

He was found dead in a bedroom at the home on June 2, 2014, the state’s attorney reported.

After a six-day trial, a Harford County jury found Siena guilty of second-degree murder and committing an act of violence with a handgun, according to the report.

“The evidence produced by the investigation showed that Siena had become enraged that Mr. Moore was leaving the house for another woman,” Deputy State’s Attorney Adkins Tobin said.

“There was no evidence of domestic violence in the home or in their relationship,” Tobin continued. “We never believed her self-defense claim and we are satisfied with the verdict.”

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office and the state’s attorney worked together to show physical evidence from the scene and events preceding the shooting that discredited the self-defense claim, according to the report.

A sentencing hearing has been set for July 2 in Harford County Circuit Court.
