Flowers By Lucy: Delivering Like Santa Claus

After 23 years of business, Flowers By Lucy has the process down.

Leading up to Christmas, the store is like Aberdeen's answer to Santa's workshop—busy and answering requests up to the very last minute.

“We take orders all the way up to Christmas Eve and deliver Christmas Eve so we tend to get pretty busy that day,” Flowers By Lucy floral designer Tracey Smith said.

Smith said Christmas is the third-busiest holiday for the store, located on West Bel Air Avenue. Mother's Day and Valentine's Day lead the way.

The store offers holiday themed gift baskets, floral arrangements, and fruit baskets. Smith recommends creating a unique floral arrangement or purchasing one of their many collectibles.

“We have Norman Rockwell, Thomas Kinkade, and of course we have Lennox. We try to make it so that whatever [customers] want, we fit it to their needs,” Smith said.

She also gave gift suggestions for those last minute invites to Christmas parties when you are unsure of what to bring.

“I would suggest a fresh bouquet of flowers. We can do that with beautiful Christmas greens and red and white flowers,” Smith said.

The store also ships worldwide for those out of town gifts by partnering up with 1-800-Flowers, FTD and Teleflora.

The store is offering 50 percent off its silk arrangements through this week and is also offering 20 percent off any item, including bouquets on Black Friday.

Flowers By Lucy is open on Christmas Eve. But, if you prefer to do your gift-giving before Christmas Eve, the store is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
