Former Celtics Champ Arrested In Aberdeen With 126 Grams Of Pot

Glen "Big Baby" Davis, a former Celtics player, was indicted on seven counts of drug possession and distribution after an Aberdeen arrest.

ABERDEEN, MD — When Aberdeen Police made an arrest last month at a local hotel following a report of marijuana use in a room, officers didn't initially realize the suspect was a retired NBA star. Glen "Big Baby" Davis, a member of the 2008 Boston Celtics NBA championship team, was arrested last month in Aberdeen with more 120 grams of marijuana and more than $90,000 in cash, according to ABC 2 in Baltimore.

Davis, 32, was arrested Feb. 7 at a Hampton Inn in Aberdeen after police received a call from the hotel owner who reportedly smelled marijuana coming from his room. Davis yelled a profanity at the owner when he knocked on the door, prompting the owner to call police.

Aberdeen Police said they seized 126 grams of marijuana and $92,164, as well other other materials involved with drug dealing. Davis was arrested and later indicted on seven counts of drug possession and distribution.

Davis' attorney told ABC 2 Davis is innocent. While Davis told police he was in the area visiting family, they have not confirmed that.

Davis played four seasons in Boston, including his rookie year when the team won the championship. Davis, known for his weight and at times on-court antics, last played in the NBA in 2015 with the Los Angeles Clippers.
