Lady Eagles Win Regional Championship
The Aberdeen girls basketball team will have to get past the winner of the Largo-Friendly game to reach the state finals.

The Aberdeen High School girls basketball team captured the MPSSAA 3A North regional championship Saturday night in an impressive 39-point victory on the road.
The Lady Eagles beat the Hereford High School Lady Bulls 71-32 in Parkton, playing aggressive defense throughout the game. Aberdeen held Hereford to only four points in the first quarter. As the game progressed, the Lady Eagles rebounded, forced turnovers and scored at will.
Coach Stacy Liles said she was pleased with the title.

Saturday night’s victory means that the team is now just one victory away from advancing to the MPSSAA state finals that will be played at the University of Maryland Baltimore County on March 12.

But first, the Lady Eagles have to get past the winner of the Largo-Friendly game. Liles said she wouldn't make the mistake of underestimating either team.
“We’ve got to be patient and work on the little things,” Liles said. “The girls have to play their defense and play their style of game.”
