Manpower Forecasts Aberdeen Employment Rate
There's more than three jobs in Aberdeen for every local job seeker who's registered on Career Builder.
The available workforce for local jobs is living right here in Aberdeen, but with far-reaching online job posting websites, hiring businesses can be selective to the last detail on résumés.
For every job seeker living in Aberdeen who’s registered on Career Builder, a jobs portal website, there are more than three jobs available in Aberdeen, according to a Career Builder supply and demand report.

There were 2,629 unique job postings in Aberdeen compared with 837 active resume profiles of Aberdeen residents as of Nov. 30.
“There’s not a lot of folks that have skill trades, but there are a lot of companies that require it. It’s a job that’s really in high demand. It’s kind of unusual because it seems like the schools don’t push skill trades anymore. They push IT (information technology),” said Mark Mayne, Aberdeen branch manager for Manpower Inc.

Manpower is a workforce company that internationally surveys companies to forecast employment rates in different industries.
The company also stations employees in various cities and towns, like Mayne in Aberdeen, to help job seekers polish their résumés and find local businesses that are hiring.
“I see a lot of distribution that’s hiring. Health care seems to be hiring as well as retail,” said Mayne.
The Aberdeen-based profiles on Career Builder include 391 retail salespersons, 191 retail managers, 124 customer service representatives, 65 computer specialists and 52 registered nurses, all looking for work.
The Manpower branch in Aberdeen has a long-term contract with manufacturing giant Procter & Gamble for job seekers.
Between June and November, the top companies hiring in Aberdeen were Lockheed Martin Corp., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Mantech International Corp., and C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. The top hiring industries in Aberdeen are aircraft manufacturing and software engineering.
