Neighbor Charged In Aberdeen Stabbing: Sheriff

The victim of a stabbing in Aberdeen showed up at Chick-fil-A Sunday night, officials said; his neighbor is in custody.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD - One man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his neighbor Sunday night in Aberdeen, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The stabbing happened in the 3400 block of Churchville Road, where both the victim and alleged assailant live, officials said.

Jaime Cristobal Roxas, 65, of the 3400 block of Churchville Road, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Aberdeen Police first responded to the incident at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday after the victim was taken to the Chick-fil-A in the 100 block of Beards Hill Road, where the crime was reported, according to authorities.

The stabbing occurred in the 3400 block of Churchville Road after a verbal argument escalated and turned physical, officials said.

The 58-year-old victim was treated by Aberdeen Fire Company personnel and taken to Joppa-Magnolia's helipad, where he was transported by medevac to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, officials said.

He was in critical but stable condition Monday afternoon, recovering from an upper body stab wound, authorities said.

Law enforcement processed evidence from both the Chick-fil-A and Churchville Road locations, and officials said they recovered the knife used in the stabbing while executing a search warrant on Roxas's property.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office had jurisdiction since the incident occurred in the 3400 block of Churchville Road, officials said.

Roxas was being held at the Harford County Detention Center on $100,000 bail, authorities said.
