Officer Hit by Vehicle Released from Hospital: Aberdeen Police
A medevac flew the injured officer to shock trauma Wednesday night, the Aberdeen Police Department reported.

ABERDEEN, MD — An officer was hit by a vehicle and injured while investigating an accident on West Bel Air Avenue Wednesday night, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.
Police said the officer sustained injuries to his head and lower body and was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter for treatment. As of 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, police said that the corporal had been released from the hospital and was recovering at home.
The collision occurred as the officer was reconstructing a crash scene from an earlier incident, according to Sgt. Will Reiber.

At approximately 10:48 p.m., the officer was outside his patrol car, which was blocking the east lane of the 700 block of West Bel Air Avenue and had its lights activated, when a vehicle that had been headed south on Beards Hill Road turned left onto West Bel Air Avenue and hit him, police reported.
The driver remained at the scene, and the officer was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with head and lower body injuries, according to officials. The officer had been wearing a reflective vest at the time of the crash.
