Planning Commission Approves Land Expansion
The Aberdeen Zoning and Planning Commission has approved two new plats of land for two existing Aberdeen locations.

The Aberdeen Zoning and Planning Commission unanimously approved two new projects during a brief session on Wednesday evening.
The commission arrived at Aberdeen City Hall at 7 p.m. for the 35-minute session, which saw Frederick Ward Associates engineer Gerry Powell summarize the technical aspects of approving the new development projects.
“There were concerns, but they were resolved either prior to the meeting it or during it,” said Aberdeen Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman Joe Swisher.

Powell began by elaborating on the specifications for final subdivision of plat one, the Aberdeen Xchange project. This project is a four lot commercial subdivision at the intersection of Newton and Philadelphia roads.
The second project, Beards Hill Lot 9, will be one subdivided lot behind Home Depot at the Beards Hill Shopping Center.

"The lot would access the recently constructed stub road at the Middleton Road/Route 22 intersection," Tory Pierce of Fred Ward Associates said on Thursday.
Specific uses have not been identified for either property, Pierce said.
