Man Shot In Vehicle Outside Home In Aberdeen: Police

Authorities say the Aberdeen man was likely targeted.

ABERDEEN, MD — A man was shot while sitting in his vehicle outside his home in Aberdeen Monday morning, according to police. Officials said he drove straight to the police station, where he received emergency medical care before being taken to the hospital.

The 62-year-old victim is currently in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, police reported before noon.

The man was shot in the upper body while in his vehicle in the 200 block of Angus Road before 5:45 a.m. After he was injured in the ambush, police said the victim drove the 1.2 miles to the Aberdeen Police Department on North Parke Street.

Officials said they think the man was targeted; he was also shot while sitting in his home in August 2016, a shooting that police said remains unsolved.

"Investigators do not believe this shooting was a random act of violence," the Aberdeen Police Department reported Monday.
