The products were tied to more than a dozen serious injuries, according to authorities.
Wound and burn products, including some sold by CVS, are being recalled after they were tied to more than a dozen serious injuries, according to authorities.
The CVS wound gel and MediHoney wound and burn products may cause temporary or reversible health problems or serious health problems, although those are less likely, according to a recall issued Friday by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
The recalled items include lots 2446 and 2428 of CVS wound gel in a 1-ounce tube, all MediHoney gel in 1.5-ounce and 0.5-ounce tubes, all MediHoney calcium alginate dressing in 2-by-2- and 4-by-5-inch sizes, and all MediHoney calcium alginate dress rope in the 0.75-by-12-inch size.

Packaging failures related to the MediHoney products could lead to a breach in the sterile barrier, resulting in infection, according to the recall, which added that the CVS gel had production and process control issues and using it could lead to infection.
“As of December 19, 2025, Integra LifeSciences has reported 11 serious injuries related to MediHoney Wound and Burn products, three serious injuries related to CVS Wound Gel products, and no deaths associated with this issue,” the recall said.
