MD Braces For 1st Big Chill As Temperatures Take Major Dip: See Forecast

The season's first big cooldown will see temperatures take a sharp nosedive come nightfall. Here's what you can expect this week.

After a rainy weekend, Maryland will be experiencing its first taste of chillier temperatures this week, especially after the sun sets for the day.

Forecasters say falling temperatures are being caused by the high pressure coming from Canada. AccuWeather reported a frost or freeze risk is possible for some inland and rural areas at high elevations.

After temperatures peaked in the 70s on Monday, the National Weather Service says residents can expect to see readings plummeting to the 40s.

That will be the case for the remainder of the week. The NWS outlook shows max daily temperatures for the region will continue to bob around the 70-degree mark before nosediving to about 50 degrees.

The chilliest night is forecast for Tuesday, when temperatures are expected to be around 44 degrees.
