MD Firefighters Rescue 2 Dogs From Burning House

One of two dogs saved from a burning Maryland home had to be resuscitated by first responders.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A kitchen fire that broke out inside a townhouse in Germantown saw two dogs rescued on Sunday.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said calls for a fire on 20100 block of Club Hill Drive were first received just after 5 p.m.

Authorities said the initial call was made by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the home.

Around 50 firefighters responded to the townhouse, where two dogs were removed. Of the two pets, one needed to be resuscitated, according to officials.

No other injuries were reported at the home.

The MCFRS said the incident displaced the two dogs and the homeowner, who was not home when the fire broke out.

Early estimates by the department indicate the fire caused about $100,000 in damage.
