Teen Threatened To 'Blow Up' Maryland High School: Police
A 17-year-old student at St. Charles High School is accused of making the threat while also displaying a photo of a handgun, police said.
WALDORF, MD — A 17-year-old student at St. Charles High School who threatened on Instagram to "blow up" the school has been charged with making threats of mass violence, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
On Jan. 9, the student posted the threat on two separate Instagram accounts while also displaying a photograph of a handgun, police said. At the time, detectives were unable to identify the owner of the accounts because both had been disabled.
Following an investigation by Charles County Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security and Intelligence, a suspect was identified, police said. On Feb. 2, the student was charged with making threats of mass violence.
