2 Annapolis Men Charged in 2015 Glen Burnie Murder

Two Annapolis men have been charged in the 2015 murder of a Glen Burnie man that occurred during a gun sale, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two Annapolis men have been charged in a 2015 homicide that Anne Arundel County Police say targeted a man buying a gun from one of the suspects. Tylique Shyheem Proctor, 20, of Glen Burnie, died Oct. 1, 2015, from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Proctor was shot near Cedar Furnace Circle and Lacrosse Lane in Glen Burnie in what police say was a gun sale that went wrong. Police officers found Proctor lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds, and later died at an area hospital.

Evidence from the crime scene and items secured from search warrants eventually identified two men in the fatal shooting. On Feb. 2, authorities issued arrest warrants for Gibran Dominque Anderson, 23, from the 1100 block of President Street in Annapolis, and Brian Deonte Brunson, 22, from the 1800 block of Copeland Street in Annapolis.

Investigators says Brunson had set up a meeting for Oct. 1, 2015, to buy a weapon from Proctor. Witnesses say Anderson shot and killed Proctor, but Brunson was with Anderson when the shooting occurred.

Both Anderson and Brunson are charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony crime of violence, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, conspiracy for firearm use in a felony crime of violence and conspiracy for first-degree assault.

Annapolis Police took Anderson into custody Feb. 2. During the arrest officer found a 9mm handgun for which he was charged. Brunson is currently in custody at the Jessup Correctional Institute on unrelated drug charges; no booking photo was available for him Monday.
