A repurposed sail store celebrated the second anniversary of its Annapolis location this weekend. The business converts sails into apparel.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A business that repurposes sails celebrated the second anniversary of its Anne Arundel County location on Independence Day weekend. The retailer, 727 Sailbags, sells sustainable apparel and accessories from its downtown Annapolis storefront.
"We love being part of such a great town and community," the business said Friday on Facebook. "A huge thank you to all our customers and business partners for supporting us and sharing our passion for upcycling and preserving our planet."

In-house seamstresses sew all the products, which range from bags to furniture. Other favorites include deck chairs, pillows and clothing.

Most items feature an authenticity label that says where the sail came from, what boat it was on, which oceans it sailed and who was on the crew. The labels also note the type and make of the sail.
727 Sailbags started in France, where the business has seven stores and sews all of its products.
