AACPS Announces Status For Wednesday, Jan. 30

Officials from Anne Arundel County Public Schools evaluated conditions Wednesday morning and issued this statement.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Officials with Anne Arundel County Public Schools affirmed that after a reevaluation Wednesday morning, schools would open late. All public schools in Anne Arundel County will open on a two-hour delay, according to a statement from the school system.

With Anne Arundel County Public Schools opening two hours late, students will be dismissed at their usual time on Wednesday, Jan. 30. (In the approved school calendar, school was supposed to dismiss two hours early, which is no longer the case.)

Students in full-day prekindergarten should report two hours later than normal on Wednesday, Jan. 30, school officials said.

Half-day prekindergarten, ECI programs and programs at the Centers of Applied Technology North or South are canceled on Wednesday, according to Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

Officials from Anne Arundel County Public Schools upheld the decision to open on a two-hour delay as other districts — including Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard and Montgomery counties — decided to close on Wednesday morning.
