Changes To Annapolis Speed Cameras Coming In September

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Speedsters, beware: the City of Annapolis is making changes to its speed camera enforcement in September.

Authorities have announced that the enforcement hours for Annapolis' automated speed cameras will be changing to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The change will take effect Sept. 8 to stay in line with Maryland Transportation Article 21-809.

Residents are reminded that the city operates speed cameras in the following areas:

• 919 Cedar Park Rd, westbound
• 1399 Forest Dr, northwest
• 1399 Forest Dr, southeast
• 190 Hilltop Lane, southeast
• 111 Chinquapin Round Rd, southbound
• Route 665 at Chinquapin Round Road

Additionally, drivers should note that enforcement for the new speed limit on Forest Drive officially takes effect Tuesday, following a 15-day warning period.

The new speed limit now requires residents to maintain a max of 35 mph between Bywater and Arundel on the Bay roads.

The reduction of 5 mph comes after officials previously indicated the nearly 3-mile corridor has one of the highest crash rates in the whole county.
