Coffee Crawl Returns To Anne Arundel County For Second Year (patch.com) — Coffee lovers in Annapolis can spend this week exploring local cafés through the Café Diem Annapolis Coffee Crawl, where check-ins at participating shops earn points toward prizes. With dozens of businesses involved and rewards for six verified visits, participants can claim winnings at the Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Visitors Center downtown.
2. Annapolis prepares for Pride parade and festival this weekend (wbaltv.com) — Annapolis will host its sixth annual Pride parade downtown at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by a noon–6 p.m. festival at the Bates Athletic Complex. Residents should expect street closures and parking restrictions along St. Johns, Calvert, West streets and Bloomsbury Square, with extra paid parking and free shuttles available from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
3. Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Announces FY2027 Board Of Directors And Executive Committee (thebaynet.com) — Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County has named its FY2027 board and executive committee, including a city representative and Annapolis's mayor in ex officio roles, to guide local tourism strategy. Their work on a new Destination Master Plan aims to boost visitor spending, support small businesses, and improve quality of life for Annapolis residents through sustainable economic growth.
4. Co-Defendants Sentenced in May 2025 Glen Burnie Murder Near Baltimore & Annapolis Trail (aacounty.org) — Annapolis-area residents now have closure in a high-profile Glen Burnie murder near the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, as two 18-year-old co-defendants received lengthy prison sentences in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. Prosecutors detailed how investigators tied the teens to a stolen white sedan, recovered ballistic evidence, and used DNA from a handgun laser attachment to secure the convictions.
5. Caroll Spriggs sworn in as Maryland state fire marshal (wbaltv.com) — Maryland's new State Fire Marshal, Caroll Spriggs, has been sworn in as the first African American to lead the agency, overseeing 85 employees and more than 40 deputy marshals. Spriggs, who previously served as a deputy fire chief in Annapolis, emphasized that safety inspections are vital protections for schools, hospitals, businesses, and public buildings statewide.
