Annapolis Area Bars, Restaurants Earn Maryland's Best Titles
Blackwall Hitch, Glory Days Grill and Mission BBQ were among the winners for the title of the best in Maryland's restaurant industry.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis area bars and restaurants were among the winners and losers for the title of the best in Maryland this weekend at the Restaurant Association of Maryland's 2017 Stars of the Industry Awards. Dock Street Bar & Grill, located in the heart of downtown Annapolis, was one of five businesses up for "favorite bar or tavern" in the state, but lost to Harborside Bar & Grill of Ocean City
The gala was held Sunday at the Baltimore Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore. Over thirty-five thousand votes were cast to decide the favorite Maryland restaurants and industry professionals. “The Gala is our opportunity to honor and give recognition to elite restaurants across the state. We are fortunate to have such a diverse group of restaurants to choose from who are dedicated to their customers, their community and their employees,” said Marshall Weston, President and CEO of the Restaurant Association of Maryland, in a news release.
But some Anne Arundel County venues were recognized. Among them was Blackwall Hitch of Annapolis and Glory Days Grill, which both received the McCormick Cornerstone of the Industry Award given to the companies that best illustrate how restaurants are the cornerstone of the economy and their community. These successful businesses support local communities by creating jobs and financially supporting non-profit groups, schools, scouts and youth sports teams, the association says.
