Annapolis BB&T Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
Annapolis Police have arrested a man they say was caught on a security camera robbing BB&T Bank.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis Police on Friday arrested a man for allegedly robbing BB&T Bank, 101 Hillsmere Drive. Investigators say the suspect gave a bank teller a note demanding money just after 3 p.m. on April 10. James Robert Joyce, 36 of Annapolis, was arrested and charged for the bank robbery. Joyce is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
On Tuesday, authorities released a bank surveillance image of the man sought in the robbery in hopes that someone would recognize the suspect. Once he had the money, the suspect left the bank and ran toward Bay Ridge Road. The bank footage does not show that the man had a weapon; authorities have not said if he was armed.
The Annapolis Police Department commended the public for the help and support in identifying Joyce as the suspect. "This arrest is an excellent example of how important it is to have an ongoing relationship between the department and the community, benefiting both our officers and our residents," Mayor Michael Pantelides said in a news release.
