Victims Identified in Annapolis Crash That Killed Woman: Update
Authorities have released the names of the driver who died and her injured passenger in the Bay Ridge Avenue crash.

UPDATED at 4:15 p.m.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — A vehicle rolled over in a crash Monday night on Bay Ridge Avenue that killed one person, according to Annapolis Police.

The one-vehicle accident was reported at 10:39 p.m. on Bay Ridge Avenue at Forest Hills Avenue.
Police say the vehicle left the road and turned over on its side. Shermekia Williams, 34, of the 700 block of Newtowne Drive in Annapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person -- Jessica James Monique Wallace, 24, of Annapolis -- was treated at University of Maryland Shock Trauma and released.
Investigators say a 2003 Infiniti driven by Williams was traveling on Forest Hills toward Bay Ridge Avenue when it failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle crossed Bay Ridge Avenue and struck a tree.
The vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side, police say.
Members of the Annapolis Police Department, with the assistance of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, are investigating the crash. At this time, the cause has not been determined.
