Annapolis Crime Report: Alcohol Shoplifted, Car Stolen

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 61 calls for service and arrested 6 people.
Good News – On 10/22 officers from the Annapolis Police Department located and arrested a suspect in a shoplifting that just occurred. Officers received a call from an employee of a business in the 200 block of West St. The employee reported a theft of alcohol and provided a suspect description. Officers searched the area and were able to locate the suspect, carrying the alcohol, on Spa Rd. The employee identified the man, Andrew Simkins, 33, of Annapolis, as the man who stole the alcohol. Simkins was charged with theft and released on his signature. The unopened alcohol was returned to the business.

Attempted Burglary – 700 block of Giddings Av – 10/10 at 5:50pm to 10/13 at 9am: The glass door to the business was shattered, but remained intact. The business was not entered and nothing was stolen.

Stolen Vehicle – 1100 block of West St – 10/20 at 9am to 10/22 at 1pm: A white 2014 Toyota Camry XLE with no registration plates was stolen from the parking lot. The keys were stolen with the vehicle.
