Annapolis Crime Report: Police Chase Leads to Arrest
Plus, residents reported an iPod stolen from a car and a stolen bicycle being ridden in the area by a teenager.

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 84 calls for service and arrested 12 people.
Theft from Vehicle – Unit block of Silopanna Rd – 10/23 at 12:30am: The adult female victim returned to her unlocked vehicle and saw a man inside going through the glove box and center console. She screamed and ran inside the residence to call the police. The subject inside the vehicle fled in an unknown direction. A gray and silver Apple iPod Nano was stolen from the vehicle.

Theft of Bicycle – 100 block of Hillsmere Dr – 10/05 around 3pm: On 10/22 the adult male victim reported that he had seen someone riding his stolen bicycle in the area. The bicycle was stolen two weeks before, but was not reported to the police. Officers searched the area, but did not locate the stolen bicycle. On 10/23 an officer saw a juvenile male operating the stolen bicycle on Madison St near Brashears St. The 15 year old male from Annapolis was given a juvenile citation for theft and released to a guardian. The bicycle was returned to the owner.

Handgun Possession – 1100 block of Medgar Evers St – 10/23 at 8:50pm: Officers were in the area looking for Darryl Moore, 33, of Annapolis. Moore had two unserved warrants for his arrest. Officers saw Moore and he fled on foot through an unlocked residence displaying a handgun. Officers chased Moore over fences and through yards of homes in the area and located Moore inside an unlocked shed in the 1300 block of McKinley St. Also located inside the shed was a digital scale and black ski mask. Officers searched the route Moore used when he fled and recovered a loaded handgun. Moore was also found to have a Maryland driver’s license belonging to another person in his pocket. Moore was served with the two warrants and charged with handgun on person, concealing a dangerous weapon, fourth degree burglary, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and displaying the government identification of another. Moore is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
