Annapolis Man Charged With Shooting 2 in Baltimore

Baltimore Police have charged an Annapolis man with attempted murder for shooting two people in the city during an argument.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A heated argument on a city of Baltimore street early Sunday morning ended with an Annapolis man charged with multiple counts of attempted murder for allegedly firing a gun at a group, according to Baltimore City Police.

The shootings happend about 2 a.m. Sunday say officers, who were called to the unit block of East Cross Street for a shooting. When Baltimore Police officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim is a 24-year-old man who was shot in the foot. The second victim is a 23-year-old man who was grazed by a bullet. Both victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Investigators believe the suspected shooter — later identified as Steven Perkins, 24, of Annapolis — argued with a group of people in the block. During the dispute, police say Perkins pulled out a handgun and fired at the people he was arguing with. These individuals were not struck. However, two unintended victims in the block were shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, several witnesses helped identify Perkins as the gunman, said police. After reportedly attempting to run from the scene, Perkins was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered.

Perkins was taken to the Central Booking and Intake Facility. He is charged with several counts of attempted murder, assault, and various handgun related charges.
