Annapolis Man Facing Assault Charges After Striking Person With Baseball Bat

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Jesus Trejo, a 63-year-old Annapolis man, is facing assault accusations after police say he struck a person with a baseball bat.

Annapolis Police said on Monday that the incident occurred Saturday around 4:30 p.m. on the 700 block of Glenwood Street.

At the scene, officers were informed that Trejo, who had already left the area, used a baseball bat to strike a person he had known.

It's unclear how the two individuals knew one another or the severity of the injuries inflicted during the altercation.

Court records show Trejo is facing first- and second-degree assault and using a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.

He was released on his own recognizance Monday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 14.
