Annapolis Mayor Encourages Shopping Local As Businesses Recover
Annapolis simplified local shopping by launching a small business locator. The city hopes the tool will facilitate coronavirus recovery.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — The City of Annapolis debuted a new tool that encourages residents to shop local. City officials hope the new gadget, a small business locator, will help entrepreneurs recover from their coronavirus losses.
"Local small businesses are what make Annapolis unique and so special to visitors. They are the heartbeat of our City," Mayor Gavin Buckley said in a press release. "They provide economic activity, arts, entertainment, culture, and jobs. This interactive tool will make it easier for residents and visitors to find and support these local gems."
Any Annapolis business can post their information on the tool. The platform also allows companies to list their modified hours, advertise specials and publicize employment opportunities.

The locator is free for all users. It also includes information on the city's Small Business Recovery Task Force, coronavirus business resources, recovery districts and frequently asked questions.
The offices of economic development and information technology created the tool, called the "Come Back Annapolis Small Business Recovery Hub." The locator is available here.
