Annapolis Patient Files Lawsuit Against MD Hospital After Cyberattack: Report
The Luminis Health system serves as the parent company to two Maryland hospitals in Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — A patient at the Annapolis-based Anne Arundel Medical Center has filed a lawsuit against the hospital's parent company after a cyberattack impacted medical logs, according to a report.
The Banner reported that Jokisha White filed the suit on Sept. 11 and accused the Luminis Health parent company of putting patients at "certainly impending" fraud risk after failing to implement data breach safeguards.

The health system has been dealing with a cyberattack since early September, when it alerted patients to downed phone systems and online health portals.
In addition to the Annapolis site, Luminis Health operates a second hospital in Lanham. Two outpatient surgery centers can be found in Annapolis and Pasadena.

The latest update released by the firm indicated its phone system was restored, although the online MyChart health portal still remained offline.
