Annapolis Plays Host To Rubik's Cube Competition

This weekend, the Naptown Cubers will host a Rubik's Cube competition in Annapolis for kids between third and 12th grades.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Rubik's Cube competition is booked this weekend for kids between third and 12th grade in Annapolis.

The event will take place Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Busch Annapolis Library at 1410 West Street. The competition is being hosted by the Naptown Cubers.

Competitors are required to have their parent and/or guardian complete a registration form and submit a $25 entrance fee in order to participate.

The contest also requires that one's average speed must be at least 90 seconds to enter.

In total, the tournament will include four different speed categories, with a minimum of two competitors facing off in each round.

Speed categories include:

  • Under 20 seconds
  • 20 to 40 seconds
  • 41 to 60 seconds
  • 61 to 90 seconds

While residents will not be allowed to use their personal cube in competition, they will be provided with a GAN i Carry Bluetooth Rubik's Cube.

Personal cubes will only be allowed during practice.

Interested individuals can register for the contest online. Organizers will not be allowing any "on the spot" registrations during the matches.
