Annapolis Teen Charged With Attempted Murder in Two Stabbings

Two men were suffered what police call life-threatening stab wounds in attacks Sunday night; a 19-year-old man is in custody.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis teenager is in custody an attempted murder charges after two men suffered severe stab wounds Sunday night, according to police.

About 10:20 p.m., officers from the Annapolis Police Department and Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a disturbance call in the 100 block of Hillsmere Drive. As officers searched the area, they found a man suffering from severe trauma behind a group of stores. A second man was found by police in the 700 block of Annapolis Neck Road, also suffering from severe trauma.

Both victims were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening stab wounds, police said.

As officers searched the area, an Annapolis Police Department canine unit found a suspect hiding in a wooded area near Annapolis Neck Road and Hillsmere Drive. Anne Arundel County police officers arrested Fermin Gomez Jimenez, 19, of Annapolis. He is currently in Anne Arundel County police custody and awaiting his initial hearing before the District Court Commissioner for charges including attempted murder.

The investigation involves both the Annapolis Police Department and Anne Arundel County Police Department since the area where the crimes occurred is where the city and county lines meet.
