Annapolis Teen Charged With Heroin Sales, Assaulting Girl

An Annapolis teenager reportedly slammed a girls head on the ground in a fight. Police say his car had heroin in the vehicle.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A teen who allegedly slammed a girl’s head into the ground reportedly had heroin in his car and faces drug-trafficking charges, Annapolis police say.

Da’quan Wainwright, 18, of Annapolis, was charged with multiple crimes Tuesday morning after an alleged assault in the 100 block of Chinquapin Round Road.

Annapolis Police were called on reports that Wainwright was attacking a girl in a business parking lot. A 16-year-old girl with signs of injuries told police she and Wainwright had argued while in a car. After they parked on Chinquapin Round Road, Wainwright got out of the vehicle and attacked the girl. Officers said Wainwright strangled and punched the girl, and repeatedly slammed her head into the ground.

The victim was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment.

Officers reportedly found heroin, a digital scale, and a package of empty clear plastic baggies in Wainwright’s vehicle.

He was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, CDS possession with intent to distribute, CDS possession not marijuana, and two counts of possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Wainwright is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
