Anne Arundel Back-to-School Program in Need of Donations

The program still needs supplies for more than 3,000 students.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Social Services is asking the public to donate to the annual Back-to-School program that provides school supplies to students in need. The program still needs donations for more than 3,000 students.

“Our school system is continuing to grow, but we are also seeing a significant increase in the number of needy children and families we are serving,” said Teresa Tudor, AACPS’ Senior Manager for School and Family Partnerships, according to a news release. “Children who don’t have the necessary supplies for class are behind from the first day of school, and we as a county need to do everything we can to prevent that from happening.”

The program will match donors to provide supplies. Donors are asked to purchase book bags, stock them with school supplies and deliver them to respective schools.
