Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks Launches Public Survey for 2027

From a Brand Partner: Public Input Will Help Shape the Future of Recreation and Parks

(Anne Arundel Country Dept of Recreation and Parks)

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks has officially launched a public engagement survey for the 2027 Land Preservation, Parks, and Recreation Plan (LPPRP). Through public input and feedback, this critical initiative serves as a five-year roadmap for developing local parks, improving recreational facilities, and advancing ongoing land preservation efforts. The LPPRP is a state-mandated requirement updated every 5 years to guide future recreation and parks investments, reflect the evolving needs of residents, and identify new priorities for the coming years.

"Our parks, recreation programs, and open spaces are the heart of our communities, and they should reflect the needs of the people who use them," said County Executive Steuart Pittman. "Public input is the cornerstone of our planning process. By participating in this survey, residents are directly influencing how we invest in our future to make Anne Arundel County The Best Place For All."

The survey takes approximately 3 to 5 minutes to complete and is available at aarecparks.org/lpprpsurvey. To ensure broad community participation, a Spanish version is available by selecting the language option within the survey. Participants who complete the survey will have an opportunity to win exclusive Recreation & Parks giveaways. The survey will remain open through early May. For more information on the 2027 LPPRP, please visit aarecparks.org/lpprp2027.

"We want to hear from every resident in the county!" says Jessica Leys, Director of Recreation and Parks. "Whether you are visiting our athletic complexes, enjoying the beach, participating in recreation programs, or hiking our trails, your feedback shows us exactly where we need to grow. This is your chance to help shape the future of our parks and recreational amenities for generations to come."
