Anne Arundel County Easter Egg Hunts: Updated List For 2019
Easter is on Sunday, April 21, but many events will be held a week or so before. Here's a list of egg hunts; tell us if we've missed one.

Spring is here, flowers are blooming and the nights are losing their chill: Easter is right around the corner. Kids and parents should start thinking about hunting for colorful, candy-stuffed eggs. Luckily, Patch readers have shared details for events they're involved in, while the folks at Easter Egg Hunts also have ideas.
Easter comes pretty late this year, falling on Sunday, April 21. (Last year it was on April 11 and the year before that it fell on April 16.) As such, many egg hunts and other events across the country will be held either a day or a week before the holiday.
There will be several egg hunts available this year for Anne Arundel kiddos, some of which include Easter Bunny visits, too. Here's a roundup of some of our favorites. Click here to see all the events and more details about them.

The Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion took on painted and decorated eggs as a symbol in the 13th century, according to Encyclopedia Britannica.
"The church prohibited the eating of eggs during Holy Week, but chickens continued to lay eggs during that week, and the notion of specially identifying those as 'Holy Week' eggs brought about their decoration," the encyclopedia page states. "The egg itself became a symbol of the Resurrection."
