Anne Arundel Public Schools Calendar: 14 Important Dates Left in 2016

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Halloween treats are already dated. It's time to pull out those pumpkin pie recipes — and holiday fruitcake won't be far behind. And, while you're in the kitchen, check your school calendar dates.

We've collected the 19 must-know dates that need to be marked on your calendar through the end of the year.
There's Election Day, Thanksgiving Day and lots of days off around the holidays. You can see the complete Anne Arundel County Public Schools calendar online.

Mark your calendar for these important dates:

• Nov. 8: Election Day - Schools and Central Offices closed
• Nov.23-25: Thanksgiving Holiday - All Schools and Central Offices closed
• Dec. 2 Schools closed for students.Parent/Teacher conferences for elementary, middle and high schools.
• Dec. 7: Professional Development - Two-hour early dismissal for all students. Schools closed for p.m. Pre-kindergarten and E.C.I. students
• Dec. 22: Two-hour early dismissal for all students, teacher workday. Schools closed for p.m. Pre-kindergarten and E.C.I. students
• Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Christmas/Winter Break. All schools and central offices closed December 23 through January 2 for students, teachers, and school-based Unit IV employees.

And we'll throw in four important dates to kick off 2017:

• Jan. 2: All Schools and Central Offices closed
• Jan. 16: Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Commemoration
• Jan. 19-20: End of second marking period, two-hour early dismissal for all students, teacher workdays. Schools closed for p.m. Pre-kindergarten and E.C.I. students
• Jan. 23: Schools closed for students. Workday for teachers
