Anne Arundel Schools Make Decision on Friday Opening

The winter that just won't end has caused another day of missed school in Anne Arundel County. The system posted that classes are canceled for Friday, Feb. 14.

Here's the announcement from the website:

Due to inclement weather, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, February 14. A Code Red is in effect for all employees. Unit III personnel must report to their work locations as required.

School/Employee Information

All public schools, school offices, and central offices are closed because of inclement weather.

School Activities

Evening High School and the Alternative Programs are canceled when Anne Arundel County Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather.

After-school and evening activities at schools -- including practices, performances, clubs, and athletic events - are canceled when Anne Arundel County Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather.

Employee Reporting

During Code Red, the following employees shall report to work at the discretion of their supervisor:

• All Logistics Support, Operations, and Maintenance Unit III (AFSCME) employees;
• All 12-month Unit III (ASFCME) Bus Maintenance employees.
